WMU Head Coach Steve Hawkins Looks on During the Broncos 76-70 loss to Temple Tuesday.

KALAMAZOO (Sports Network) - Ryan Brooks scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Temple Owls to a 76-70 win over the Western Michigan Broncos in a non-league affair at University Arena.

The Owls (5-2) also received 14 points apiece from Craig Williams and Juan Fernandez, while Lavoy Allen checked in with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Western Michigan (2-3) was paced by David Kool, who scored a game-high 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field. Donald Lawson also added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Flenard Whitfield checked in with 13 points in the loss.

The Broncos got off to a fast start, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 38-37 lead at the break.

Temple stormed back in the second stanza, knocking down 6-of-11 three-point attempts en route to the six-point victory.

Three-point shooting proved to be the difference in this contest, as the Owls outscored WMU 27-15 from long distance.
